Contest Layout!

I was going to post a layout today using the It's Your Day stamp set again, but I've had a change of plans!  I forgot that voting begins today on the Fiskars Fuse contest I entered, so I want to show you what I made for that!

I used my Cricut to cut more circle shapes, and used round embellishments, to repeat the shapes that Fiskars supplied.  I used some purple CS and ribbon edge anchors from my stash, and everything else is from Pink Paislee's Vintage Vogue collection!

Echo Park Layout and Contest

Today I have a fun contest to share with you.  Echo Park Paper is sponsoring a sketch contest on their Facebook page, but of course you need the sketch!  But before I tell you how to get it, I wanted to share my layout(s) with you.  If you've come here from the Cutters Creek blog, you've already seen this first page:

Of course, if you know anything about me, you already know that I almost never create single-page layouts.  So, I rotated the sketch, simplified the design, and created this second page:

 

Oh!  I also should share a quick little tip here!  I know it looks like I've used a LOT of paper here, but I am all about saving everything I can.  So, I cut the centers out of the cream & brown papers to save for another project.  (I know, I should have taken a picture of the back but I forgot!)

Free-For-All in June

Have you tried StudioJ online scrapbooking yet?  I equate it to "digital scrapping for dummies", lol, because I was actually able to figure it out pretty easily!  During June, everyone can try StudioJ and receive a JPEG file of their layout for free.  This digital version can be printed (if you don't order a print directly from StudioJ) or shared online or via email.

Altered Umbrella Stand and BIG News

Sorry for the lack of posts this week. Ever since the problems with Blogger I just haven't had time to get posts written. But to make up for it, next week is going to be full of prizes! Be sure to check back starting on Sunday for a week-long blog candy extravaganza. There will be BIG prizes!

Now, for today's project: an altered umbrella stand! Michael's had this awesome sale last week and I picked up a metal container I've been eying for a LONG time. With three kids, our entry always seems to be a mess, and kid umbrellas are one of the problems. Of course our living/dining room is right at the front of the house, with a fancy paint job & all, so I needed the container to match the color scheme, while still being a little playful. Hello, vinyl! This is what I came up with:

 

I used my Make The Cut software for this, and my SVGs are from Lettering Delights.  The umbrella is from the Weather Girl set, and the border is from Basic Borders.  As luck would have it, Lettering Delights is having a home decor contest right now too, so I made sure to upload this to the gallery there!  They always have some kind of free files available, including printables, so anyone can enter.  Even if you don't use MTC or SCAL, the printables and fonts are super easy to use to create awesome projects!  Make sure you head over to LD, and you can get lots of free items just for creating an account.
