Kaboom - Let's Celebrate the June Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to our June stamp of the month blog hop! If you've arrived here from Shirley Ross' Mom 'n Me Scrap blog, or if you are just starting out, you are in the right place. If you get lost anywhere along the way, I have the complete list posted here.

Our stamp set this month is Kaboom - a set of 16 fun stamps perfect for all kinds of celebrations, and just $5 with any $50 purchase.

We have a blast every Summer during the July 4th weekend, and I hadn't yet scrapped my pictures from 2 years ago, so that's what I started with!

I use the Jubilee paper packet and coordinating stamp pads for this layout and I just love how it turned out!

This title block was easy to make: I stamped the "Let's celebrate!" image in Honey in the center of the rectangle. Then I stamped it in Cranberry on a scrap, cut out the banner, and popped it up using 3-D foam tape. I then random stamped the single star all over, using Honey, Cranberry, Indian Corn Blue, and Desert Sand.

This awesome border was made by stamping the various images on Colonial White cardstock and cutting them out with micro-tip scissors. Some are adhered flat to the page and others are popped up on 3-D foam tape.

The continuation of my border and my journaling strips. A big block of journaling just wasn't necessary for this layout. The yellow image, plus some of the others in the set, are compatible with the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.

No need to be intimidated by fussy cutting these images! I stamped way more than I needed, filling a sheet of Colonial White cardstock. Then I sat in the recliner and cut them with micro-tip scissors while I watched TV. I had enough for my layout, plus all these extras, cut out in about an hour. Now for my next layout or card I can just grab what I need without having to cut again.

Be sure to check out all of the images in this stamp set! I can totally see using them for the circus or zoo, a birthday party, fun fair, and more. (I even used a couple on a pool layout I posted the other day.)

If you're ready to start shopping, feel free to use any of the links below, as I have them set to open in a new window. Otherwise, hop along any time to visit Krista Ritskes' Simply Creating Together blog and check out her artwork.

  4. I love fussy cutting too, so I like the way you think, do a bunch now, have extras to put away for another time. Great layout.
